Peening Accessories (PA) and Abrasive Engineering (AE) have together set a new industry benchmark by achieving ISO/IEC 17025 certification for their UltimateValve® and SmartValve® (PASV) in January 2025—making them the world’s only peening flow rate valves to receive this prestigious accreditation. This milestone reinforces their commitment to precision, reliability, and global compliance, offering customers unmatched confidence in their surface enhancement solutions.

Raising the Bar in Peening Technology

The range of UltimateValve®, MicrowaveValve®, and SmartValve® (PASV) is manufactured under strict quality control, ensuring performance consistency. Not stopping there, the company tirelessly sought to go beyond the general quality management of ISO 9001 and pursue ISO/IEC 17025 certification, a gold standard in testing and calibration laboratories.

Overcoming Challenges to Pioneer a New Standard

The journey towards ISO/IEC 17025 certification was not without hurdles. In 2022, the company embarked on this initiative, only to discover that there was no existing standard method for calibrating solid flow rate—a critical parameter in peening applications.

To bridge this gap, their in-house R&D team developed proprietary calibration methods and formulas for solid flow rate measurement. Adhering to guidelines from the Singapore Accreditation Council (SAC), they formulated their own calibration and uncertainty calculations, ensuring results that met the highest industry standards.

By May 2024, the company had successfully developed and validated these methodologies. The next step was a rigorous proficiency test at the National Metrology Centre, the national measurement institute of Singapore, which is an essential requirement for ISO 17025 accreditation. This proficiency testing is critical for identifying any potential discrepancies in testing methods, allowing laboratories to refine processes and enhance measurement accuracy.

Following this, the company submitted its ISO/IEC 17025 certification application to SAC in September 2024. The assessment process, involving audits and a third-party assessment by an Accreditation Body (SAC), commenced in November 2024, was completed by December 2024, and resulted in an official certification being awarded in January 2025.

What This Means for Customers

Being ISO/IEC 17025-certified, UltimateValve® and SmartValve® (PASV) provide customers with tangible advantages, particularly in high-precision industries such as aerospace, automotive, marine, oil & gas, and precision engineering sectors. Key benefits include:

• Unmatched Testing Accuracy & Reliability – Customers can rely on scientifically validated, precision-calibrated valves, ensuring consistent flow rate control in peening processes.
• Seamless Regulatory Compliance – The certification simplifies compliance with global quality and safety standards such as NADCAP, AS9100, ASTM, and SAE’s AMS.
• Streamlined Approval Processes – Industries requiring third-party verification of performance and quality can now integrate these solutions with greater ease and confidence.
• Enhanced Process Efficiency – With validated flow rate control, manufacturers benefit from reduced process variability, improved productivity, and minimized rework.

Setting the Industry Standard for the Future

The achievement of securing ISO/IEC 17025 certification for peening flow rate valves is a game-changer for the industry. By pioneering precision calibration methods and raising the benchmark for quality assurance, the company's leadership in surface enhancement solutions is reinforced.

With its continued focus on innovation, compliance, and excellence, the company is poised to drive greater efficiency, reliability, and trust across industries that demand the highest levels of precision and performance.
